School Grants
It is the intent of the APICDA Board of Directors that this grant award be used in a manner that will encourage and foster the education of students with regard to the fisheries located adjacent to our shores. The funds may be directed toward fishery conservation or management education, development of vocational programs, special projects, or any educational activity that enhances the awareness of students regarding the fishing industry. Each year APICDA offers a school grant in the amount of $12,000 to one school in each community.
2007 - Seven schools were awarded the school grant for a total of $76,083.
2008 - Five schools were awarded the school grant for a total of $55,908.
2009 - Six schools were awarded the school grant for a total of $82,808.
2010 - Six schools were awarded the school grant for a total of $71,747.
The deadline to close out existing school grants is August 31st. The application deadline for the 2009-10 school grants is November 30th.
